Taskbz ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you use Taskbz at www.taskbz.com.

1. Data We Collect

When you use Taskbz, we collect the following:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo, provided when you sign in with Google or Microsoft, or when you register with an email and password.
• Board and task data — the boards, columns, cards, comments, and attachments you create inside the app.
• Usage analytics — anonymous usage events collected by Firebase Analytics (page views, feature interactions) to help us improve the app.

We do not collect payment information, location data, or any data beyond what is needed to operate the service.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and operate the Taskbz service.
• To identify you when you sign in and associate your boards with your account.
• To enable collaboration features such as board sharing and team invitations.
• To send transactional notifications related to your account (e.g. password reset emails from Firebase).
• To analyse aggregate, anonymous usage patterns to improve the product.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore and Firebase Authentication, both of which are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Firebase enforces strict access control rules — you can only access boards you are a member of. Data is transmitted over HTTPS at all times.

4. Third-Party Services

Taskbz uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase (database, authentication, hosting, analytics) — Firebase Privacy
• Google Sign-In / Microsoft Sign-In — governed by Google's and Microsoft's respective privacy policies.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & Global)

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Data portability — request a copy of your data.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) and believe your rights under GDPR have not been honoured, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

Taskbz uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage to save your view preferences and cached data locally on your device. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Firebase may set cookies for authentication purposes. These are strictly necessary for the service to function.

7. Data Retention

Your account and board data is stored for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Board data you shared with others may remain visible to those collaborators.

8. Children's Privacy

Taskbz is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Taskbz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
